As the primary avionics provider for all U.S. Air Force tanker programs, Rockwell Collins brings its breadth of airborne communication and navigation solutions to this year’s Air & Space Conference and Technology Exposition. Journalists are invited to Exhibit 311 to see why Rockwell Collins is a world leader in providing avionics solutions for tanker/transport aircraft.

Exhibit information:
The Rockwell Collins exhibit will feature our avionics upgrade capabilities, networked communications offerings and simulation and training solutions. Attendees are also encouraged to visit Boeing’s KC-46 tanker trailer located at Booth 652 in the convention hall, featuring a flight deck equipped with the Rockwell Collins Large Display System and Remote Vision System, which use both 3D and 2D technology to assist in aerial refueling.

Exhibit highlights include:

Flight2™ integrated avionics for military platforms
Rockwell Collins’ Flight2 integrated avionics system is playing a key role in modernizing today’s military aircraft. Flight2 transforms federated systems into a modern digital system and provides commonality with commercial aircraft. At the Rockwell Collins booth, an upgraded C-130 flight deck will be on display showcasing the advanced capabilities of the system. Our Flight2 System has been successfully installed on over 100 C-130s worldwide. Today, Rockwell Collins offers several tiers of Flight2 solutions to meet avionics modernization needs, ranging from stand-alone component upgrades to a comprehensive panel upgrade that delivers modern capabilities along with a path to future technology upgrades.

Virtual Avionics Procedures Trainer with EP-8000™ visual system
Rockwell Collins Virtual Avionics Procedures Trainer (VAPT) integrated with the company’s newest and highest performance visual system – the EP-8000 visual system – will be on display with re-hosted Flight2 avionics software demonstrating King Air 350, CH-47, C-130 and KC-135 configurations.

The VAPT and the EP-8000 are based on Rockwell Collins’ advanced CORE™ simulation architecture, a modular, expandable and configurable combination of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technology and PC-based hardware and software. The EP-8000 recently achieved its first Level D certification on a full-flight simulator.

ARC-210 Gen5 software defined radio for airborne military platforms
In April 2011, Rockwell Collins delivered its newest generation ARC-210 Gen5 radio, the first-to-market airborne radio that provides software-defined networking capabilities and cryptographic modernization features. This radio recently completed the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) satellite communications testing, a first step in providing a communication solution with networking capability for airborne platforms.
